Woman Wins 450,000 Baht Stall Auction at Prakan Temple Fair
Jae Fa, a 42‑year‑old woman, won the auction for a prime stall at the annual Lotus Receiving ceremony at Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai in Samut Prakan, bidding 450,000 baht. She plans to sell fruit from her Nakhon Nayok orchard and says she cannot predict whether the earnings will cover the stall cost. The temple fair runs from October 19 to 27.
Interview with Jae Fa, the new winner who won the auction for a prime stall priced at 450,000 baht at the annual Lotus Receiving tradition at Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai, also known as Wat Luang Pho To, in Bang Phli district, Samut Prakan province. She replaced the longtime vendor Kalamae Mae Ket shop, which had operated there for many years, prompting curiosity about what goods the new seller would offer.
Recently, reporters visited stall A70 located at the intersection near the ubosot and met Jae Fa, 42, this year's auction winner. She said she had liked and eyed the spot for three years because it is a central point with steady foot traffic. Previously she lacked the funds to bid, so she participated according to her means. This year, feeling financially ready, she decided to compete. She had initially set a budget of 200,000 baht, but her desire for the long-coveted location pushed her to raise her limit to 500,000 baht. She eventually won the bid at 450,000 baht.
She plans to sell fruit from her orchard in Nakhon Nayok, which she bought four years ago. In addition, she works in the second-hand housing and rental business.
When asked whether the income will justify the stall cost, Jae Fa replied that she dares not forecast; whatever she sells is what she gets. She believes that if her products are good, customers will return. What satisfies her today is achieving her dream of selling on a spot she had wanted for a long time. Regarding online criticism, she chooses to spend her time working hard within her means, fighting as much as she can; if she cannot, she does not fight, but everyone born must strive.
