Samut Prakan Vegetable Seller Wins 30 Million Baht Lottery
A vegetable seller in Samut Prakan won 30 million baht in the government lottery. He gave away free vegetables to celebrate and says he will continue his usual work and lifestyle. He plans to pay debts, support his children, and make merit with the winnings.
On October 16, 2069, reporters said Pradit Sootho, 48, a vegetable vendor living in the Dan Samrong area of Mueang Samut Prakan district, became a new millionaire after winning the first prize in the government lottery with ticket number 011781, five tickets worth a total of 30 million baht. He said he was overjoyed and shared his happiness by distributing free vegetables to neighbours. Pradit explained that he bought the tickets from a stall near his vegetable shop, selecting numbers close to his car’s licence plate (791) and then adjusting them. He does not buy every draw, only when he likes a number. After the draw, he initially doubted his win but confirmed it after checking the tickets again, then recorded the victory at the North Samrong Police Station. He plans to use the money first to pay off debts, then set aside savings for his two children, and make merit for good fortune. Despite his new wealth, he said he will keep selling vegetables and maintain his normal lifestyle, currently renting a room for about 2,000 baht per month where he has lived for seven to eight years.
