The Thai Meteorological Department issued its final announcement (No. 13, 272/2569) on heavy to very heavy rain in Thailand, effective through October 25, 2026. From October 23-25, the eastern and southern regions will experience continuous rain with heavy to very heavy falls in some areas. The lower north, lower northeast, central region, and Bangkok metropolitan area will continue to have scattered thundershowers and strong gusts. Residents are warned of dangers from strong gusts, heavy rain, and accumulated rainfall that could trigger flash floods and forest runoff in foothill and low-lying areas. The pattern is driven by a monsoon trough moving across the south, a strong southwest monsoon over the lower Andaman Sea, and a high-pressure system from China extending over the upper north, upper northeast, and South China Sea, causing easterly winds to prevail over Thailand and the Gulf. In the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand, waves will exceed three meters in thundery areas. Mariners in the Gulf and Andaman should navigate with caution and avoid sailing in thundery zones. For safety, the public should plan activities and travel carefully during this period and monitor Meteorological Department announcements continuously via www.tmd.go.th, 0-2399-4012-13, or 1182 (24 hours).
