Police arrested a 33-year-old man caught with evidence after he broke into a 52-year-old woman's home and attempted to rape her. The suspect confessed to being drunk and high on drugs, fleeing the scene wearing the victim's underwear.
On October 22, 2026, Pawina Hongsakul, president of the Pawina Hongsakul Foundation for Children and Women, disclosed progress in the case of "Nang Lek" (pseudonym), a 52-year-old woman who sought help from the foundation, handing over a pair of boxer shorts belonging to the perpetrator as evidence after a burglar broke into her house and attempted to rape her. The incident occurred at 3:00 a.m. on October 18.
After receiving the report, Pawina coordinated with Pol. Lt. Col. Phairoch Phetphloi, superintendent of Bang Phli Police Station, who assigned foundation staff to bring the victim to meet investigators to submit the underwear evidence and give additional testimony, while expediting the arrest of the perpetrator.
Pawina stated that she recently received a report from Pol. Lt. Col. Phairoch Phetphloi that he had ordered investigators to track down and arrest "Nai Boy" (pseudonym), age 33, the perpetrator. He was apprehended while riding a motorcycle out of a shopping mall in Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province, before being brought to Bang Phli Police Station for questioning.
The suspect confessed to being the perpetrator and stated he works as a motorcycle parcel delivery driver. Before the incident, he had been drinking with friends until heavily intoxicated and also took methamphetamine, which aroused sexual urges. He then rode his motorcycle to the victim's house, used a knife to pry open a window, climbed in, and committed the offense while the victim was asleep. At first, the victim thought it was her husband, but when she realized it was not, she struggled and resisted. The suspect panicked and fled, grabbing the victim's underwear to wear in his haste without realizing it.
Police have initially charged him with indecent assault, attempted rape, and nighttime trespassing. Legal proceedings will continue, and the suspect will be detained and remanded to court tomorrow, October 23, 2026.
Pawina thanked Pol. Lt. Col. Phairoch Phetphloi for the swift action, arresting the suspect within one day. The Pawina Foundation will coordinate with the Rights and Liberties Protection Department, Ministry of Justice, to ensure the victim receives compensation.
