Pattaya Police Hunt Two Foreigners for Tourist Robbery
Pattaya police have secured arrest warrants for two foreign nationals accused of assaulting and robbing a tourist of the same nationality on Thappraya Road on October 18. The suspects have not left Thailand, and a manhunt is underway. Authorities stress tourist safety remains a top priority and urge the public to provide any leads.
Chonburi police are not letting up in the investigation of a foreign tourist who was assaulted and robbed on Thappraya Road in Pattaya on October 18, an incident that raised safety concerns for visitors. Acting on national police policy and orders from Provincial Police Region 2 commander Pol. Lt. Gen. Wasan Techaakara-kesem and Chonburi provincial police chief Pol. Maj. Gen. Chatri Suksee to crack down on crime and protect tourists, Pattaya City police chief Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyu directed investigators to review CCTV footage and gather evidence. This led to the identification of two suspects, both foreigners of the same nationality as the victim. The Pattaya Provincial Court has since issued arrest warrants for both men on charges of "jointly committing robbery at night, causing danger to the body or mind of another person." Authorities confirm neither suspect has departed the country, and police are actively tracking them down for prosecution. "Chonburi police affirm that the safety of all residents and tourists is paramount. We are tightening prevention and suppression of crime, especially in tourist zones and risk areas, to ensure Pattaya remains a safe destination. Anyone with information can contact Pattaya City Police Station or call 191, 24 hours a day."
