Woman Registers NENE ROYAL Trademark for Niece, Netizens Question
A woman registered the NENE ROYAL trademark in Thailand, stating she would transfer the rights to her niece Nene Royal, a Phuket winner of America’s Got Talent. Netizens questioned the legality of the filing and her relationship to the niece, but she did not clarify. Experts note that trademark registration requires distinctiveness and permission, and the niece or her representative could file an objection.
The woman said she had registered the NENE ROYAL trademark to give the niece a chance to start her own business in Thailand and worldwide. She previously posted on Facebook that the trademark application was a gift for a young girl pursuing her music dream, and that she was giving the niece the chance to build her own business under the NENE ROYAL brand. On 17 Oct 2569 at 12:29, she posted again, saying that a foreigner who had given opportunities to a little girl named Praew had enabled her to follow her dream, and that she wanted the trademark rights for NENE ROYAL to go directly to the Rattikan Amloy family. She said a foreigner named Jon Elron agreed. She also noted that learning about intellectual property through the Department of Intellectual Property is a worthwhile start that adds significant value, and encouraged Nene Royal to achieve her dreams.
