Southern Thai Muslims Fly to Umrah as Officials Offer Encouragement
Southern Thai Muslims are flying from Narathiwat Airport to perform the Umrah pilgrimage in Mecca, with officials from the People's Party and police providing encouragement. Despite regional tensions and the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict, families and community members gathered to see them off, sharing smiles, hugs, and prayers. The officials offered blessings and prayed for the pilgrims’ safety, health, and successful completion of their religious rites.
At Narathiwat Airport’s departure terminal in Kok Kian district, the atmosphere is lively and warm as many people gather to send off pilgrims bound for the Umrah rites in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Police Major General Thawi Sodsong, a list‑MP and leader of the People's Party, together with Narathiwat MP Kamolsak Liwaemae, former Justice Ministry aide Kueng Yaoahsan, and their entourage, arrive to meet and encourage the pilgrims personally. They chat with the travelers, ask about their health and preparations, and offer prayers for a safe, healthy journey and the successful completion of their religious duties. Pilgrims and well‑wishers greet the officials, shake hands, and take photos, expressing gratitude for the moral support that lifts their spirits before departure for the holy land.
