A woman said she had registered 'NENE ROYAL' as a trademark in Thailand to protect the interests of Rattikan Amloy, known as Nene Royal, the Phuket native who recently won America’s Got Talent. She announced this in a Facebook post, stating that she wanted to give the trademark rights to Nene’s family. However, commenters questioned whether she could legally register the mark and asked about her relationship with the singer. When one user asked if she had filed the trademark on Nene’s behalf, she replied, 'Yes, to protect her,' but did not answer further questions about her connection to Nene.

Another commenter pointed out that a trademark belongs to the person who registers it, and using someone else’s name without permission would not meet registration requirements. They added that Nene or an authorized representative could file an objection.

In an earlier post on September 28, the woman shared what she described as a trademark application for 'NENE ROYAL', calling it a gift to help the young singer pursue her dreams and build her own business. She wrote, 'A gift to mark the start of a young girl’s growth in Thailand and around the world as she follows her musical dreams,' and referred to herself as 'Auntie Nu', saying she wanted to give Nene the trademark application so she could follow her dreams and build the best business possible under the NENE ROYAL brand.

In another post on October 17 at 12:29, she said she had discussed trademark ownership in Thailand with Jon Elron, whom she described as a foreigner who had given a young girl named Praew opportunities to pursue her dreams. She said she had asked whether the rights to 'NENE ROYAL' could belong directly to Rattikan Amloy’s family, with an individual named as the owner. According to her post, Elron agreed that the trademark should belong directly to Rattikan.

She added, 'Learning about intellectual property is a worthwhile start and can significantly increase value,' referring to the Department of Intellectual Property. She concluded, 'Nene Royal, keep going and make your dreams come true, my girl. Thank you for letting me meet the child called Nene Royal.'
