On October 19, 2026, reporters provided an update on the search for 'Boss,' a seven-year-old boy who had gone missing while accompanying his grandparents to work in a rice field in Kudut Bode village, Sampuern subdistrict, Khewang district, Kalasin Province. His disappearance on the afternoon of October 18 had caused great anxiety among his family and local residents. Despite continuous efforts by police, rescue teams, and volunteers, there had been no sign of him until around 6:30 p.m., when Kalasin Province MP Chana wut Uttoto, District Chief Thawatchai Hemwang, and Police Chief Somchai Phukongchon received information from the Muen Hin rescue team and a volunteer network that villagers had located a boy matching Boss’s description walking alone in Kaeng Nang village, Ketum subdistrict, Dongluang district, Mukdahan Province, a cross‑border area.

After being informed, Chana wut Uttoto coordinated with rescue units at the scene to verify the boy’s identity. A photo was sent to the command center in Khewang so relatives could confirm it was indeed Boss. Upon seeing the image, his parents and relatives burst into tears of relief, while officials and villagers celebrated the successful search.

Rescue teams from Muen Hin, together with Boss’s grandfather, Preeda Kruesri, immediately traveled to Kaeng Nang to bring him back to Khewang. He was rushed to Khewang Hospital for medical and psychological evaluation, as he appeared exhausted, weak, and frightened by the ordeal.

According to his grandfather, the boy was found about 30 kilometers from the rice field where his family had been working. Boss recounted that a dog had snatched his blue flip‑flop, prompting him to chase after it. He lost track of direction, wandered deep into the forest, and kept walking until he reached a stream in Dongluang District.

Chana wut Uttoto thanked all parties involved—the district chief, police, various rescue units, and volunteer villagers—for their cooperation in locating the child. He added that Boss would need time to recover emotionally and asked the public not to disturb him so he could return to normal life. The incident stemmed from the dog taking Boss’s blue sandal, which led the boy to follow the animal and eventually walk nearly 30 kilometers before being found by villagers fishing.
