Thai MP Ida Confirms Husband Held Shares in Gambling Firm
Thai MP Ida (Suchada Sang Thantrap) admitted her husband once held a 1.47 % stake in the company behind the Shuffle.com gambling website before she entered parliament. She said the shares were sold prior to her election and that she has reported the transaction to the anti‑corruption commission, while the Department of Special Investigation has opened case 148/2569 into the alleged link to an online‑gambling network. Ida is set to meet with DSI officials today to clarify the matter.
Ida, the Bhumjaithai Party MP for Chaiyaphum, acknowledged that her husband, Thai Yang Sang, previously held a 1.47 % stake in Mixed Order Limited, the company that operates the Shuffle.com website, before she became a member of parliament. She said she is preparing to explain the matter to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), which has opened case 148/2569 after linking the shareholding to an online‑gambling network. In an interview on the Morning News program on October 20, 2069, Ida stated that Mixed Order Limited is registered in the British Virgin Islands and owns Natural Nine B.V., a Curacao‑registered firm that runs Shuffle.com. She emphasized that her husband sold those shares well before she took office and that she had already disclosed the holding to the National Anti‑Corruption Commission when she served as a minister’s aide, transferring the shares in early January 2069. Her latest asset declaration as an MP no longer includes the shares. Ida is scheduled to appear before the DSI at 10:00 a.m. today to give her explanation. Meanwhile, a separate complaint has been filed with the anti‑corruption commission alleging a serious ethics breach over her husband’s alleged 1 % stake in a gambling website.
