At approximately 20:00 on 19 October 2026, Wangnoi police received a report of a shooting near a factory in the Factory Land Wangnoi industrial zone, opposite a police checkpoint in zone 5, Moo 3, Wang Chula subdistrict, Wangnoi district, Ayutthaya Province. Officers found Thanabodi, 24, suffering from gunshot wounds to his right chest, side and face; he was rushed to Wangnoi Hospital where he later died. Witnesses said Thanabodi had arrived on a red Honda motorcycle to pick up his 23‑year‑old girlfriend, who works at the factory. As he waited, Wattanyu (Tee), 38, her former suitor from Ang Thong, rode up on a motorcycle, fired three shots at Thanabodi and fled quickly. Security guard Yut said the shooting occurred as employees were leaving work. Police recovered three bullet casings and reviewed CCTV showing a grey‑black Honda PCX entering the zone, parking opposite the factory, and the muzzle flash of three shots before the rider fled. The victim’s girlfriend told police she had met Tee on Facebook months earlier, but after he threatened her with a gun at her previous job she blocked him and moved factories, though he continued to loiter near her new workplace. She said she had been dating Thanabodi for five to six months; he had moved from Kamphaeng Phet to Ayutthaya about a week earlier and they had been living together in a rented room. Police are gathering evidence, reviewing surveillance footage, and hunting for Wattanyu, who may still be armed.
