Parliament Committee Summons Idea's Husband, Binance in Gambling Probe
The House Committee on Legal Affairs will summon the husband of MP Suchada 'Idea' Sang, former MP Sirichok Sopha, and Binance Thailand next week in its investigation of the Shuffle gambling website. Committee chair Rangsiman Rome confirmed money trails from Thai accounts exist, constituting criminal elements, and urged faster action rather than waiting for a Cyber Police meeting on October 26. Potential charges include transnational crime, gambling violations, and money laundering.
On October 24, 2026, MP Rangsiman Rome, People's Party list MP and chair of the House Committee on Legal Affairs, Justice and Human Rights, gave an interview regarding the investigation into the Shuffle gambling website.
Rangsiman stated that pursuing the case against Shuffle is necessary. The specific charges — which may include transnational organized crime, violations of the Gambling Act, and money laundering — will depend on witnesses and evidence. What is confirmed is that money trails originating from Thai wallet accounts exist, satisfying the elements of an offense, yet legal proceedings have not commenced. State agencies should accelerate action. Although the Cyber Police said they would wait until October 26 to hold a meeting on the matter, Rangsiman believes there is no need to wait that long. This will test how the system treats a gambling site allegedly backed by influential figures, and the public is watching closely.
Rangsiman added that next week the committee will summon former Songkhla MP Sirichok Sopha of the Democrat Party, as well as Chaiyaphum MP Suchada 'Idea' Sang of the Bhumjaithai Party, her husband Taiyang Sang, and the Binance Thailand platform — all of whom failed to appear in the previous round.
Asked about Sirichok's allegations linking money flows from the gambling site to companies associated with the son of Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, Rangsiman said the committee is now in the legal planning phase regarding those involved. This does not mean everyone connected is guilty; each case must be examined for its constituent elements. As committee chair, he must exercise utmost caution to avoid accusations of using authority to intimidate. The matter must proceed based on witnesses and evidence. He cannot yet disclose what additional evidence the committee may have, as its current duty is to hear all sides and evaluate the information.
