Jeff Satur Visits Laos Fans After Festival Cancelled Last Minute
Thai pop star Jeff Satur flew to Laos to meet fans after the L.I.T Pop Music Festival was abruptly cancelled one day before his scheduled performance on October 17. Despite not being able to perform, he wanted to support fans from Thailand, China, and other countries who had already traveled there, moving many to tears. At the HOWE Awards 2026 in Bangkok on October 20, he called it the first such incident in his career and said the festival has been postponed indefinitely.
Jeff Satur was shocked! The gig was cancelled just one day before he was due to fly. He said it was the first time he had ever encountered this. Not wanting to leave fans hanging, he flew to Laos to cheer them up even though he could not take the stage.
Earlier, excitement had been building for the "L.I.T Pop Music Festival," a pop music festival set for Saturday, October 17, 2026, in Laos. One of the most anticipated acts was rising star Jeff Satur, who was slated to perform. However, the organizers recently announced the event's postponement, leaving fans disappointed they would not see the show as planned. Nevertheless, Jeff still went to meet fans as originally intended, deeply touching them, with some breaking down in tears.
Most recently, on October 20, Jeff Satur attended the HOWE Magazine 14th anniversary event presenting the "HOWE AWARDS 2026" at Grand Hall 201-203 (2nd floor), BITEC Bang Na, where he gave an interview about the situation. He revealed the cancellation came just one day before he was due to fly, but he decided to travel to meet fans as planned, even without a concert, because he wanted to support the fan clubs from many countries who had traveled there to wait.
He said it was the first time he had faced such an incident. He was moved that so many fans gathered, though many cried from disappointment at not being able to sing together. He hopes this meeting helps heal their feelings. The festival has been postponed indefinitely.
What happened? Why was it postponed? "The gig got cancelled. They cancelled it one day before I was due to fly. I wanted to go because Lao fans, international fans — many countries, Thai, Chinese, many nations — flew there to wait. They were sad it wasn't happening. I felt I wanted to be there at least to cheer them on. If I couldn't play the concert, I still wanted to see them. They even made a project buying screens at various spots. I didn't announce what time I'd be there, but they gathered in huge numbers. I was touched to meet them even without a concert."
Fans were touched because you didn't have to go but chose to find them? "I think it's the desire to meet them. Whether singing or whatever, since the booking was already set and I was free, why wouldn't I go?"
Why did they cancel just one day ahead? "You'd have to ask the organizers. I was shocked. (Is this the first time?) Probably the first time."
Fans were quite shocked because everything looked ready? "Yes, the concert hall was all set. I talked to fans, but most were crying. They were excited and wanted to sing together. They were happy to see me; I was happy to see them. We shared a brief moment. I told them if I come to Laos again next time, let's sing, not cry."
We don't abandon them? "They never abandoned us; we never abandon them. We should go together."
When you saw them crying? "I wanted to comfort them. Didn't want them crying because we'll meet again next time. It's okay if we don't meet now, but I hope this meeting heals the feeling."
Is it postponed or cancelled for good? "It's postponed indefinitely."
