A veteran snake catcher in Surat Thani was stunned when he encountered a king cobra over four meters long constricting a 1.5-meter rat snake at a resort on Koh Phangan. Natthawut Kanitthan, who has caught snakes for more than ten years, said it was the first time he had ever seen a king cobra in the wild. He and Koh Phangan rescue workers used specialized equipment to separate the two reptiles near the resort's swimming pool, a process that took about five minutes. Both snakes were later released back into nature. Natthawut warned the public not to approach or attempt to catch snakes themselves, as they can be dangerous, and to instead contact rescue officials or experts for safe removal.
