Celebrities Join Youth Virtue Project at Bangkok Temple
Thai celebrities joined a youth morality camp at Wat Thammamongkol in Bangkok, organized by a national virtue promotion association. The project aims to instill Buddhist ethics, gratitude, and social responsibility in children through training and mentorship. Organizers hope the initiative becomes a foundation for long-term character development with support from families, schools, and temples.
Actor S Kanthapong led a team of celebrity volunteers in the "Seedlings of Virtue Leading Youth to Goodness" project, planting seeds of conscience and morality in Thai children at Wat Thammamongkol.
It was another worthwhile activity creating smiles, inspiration, and spiritual value for children and youth. The National Association for the Promotion of Virtue and Culture (NAPVC), led by Dr. Kanthana Sonchen, together with Dr. Nui-Kesarin Ekattawakul and the volunteer teachers of Wat Thammamongkol, organized the "Seedlings of Virtue Leading Youth to Goodness" project. The morality, ethics, and public-consciousness training camp for children and youth aims to encourage Thai children to grow with quality, have compassionate hearts, know their duties, and apply Buddhist principles in daily life. The event took place at Wat Thammamongkol, Sukhumvit 101, Punnawithi 20, Bangkok.
The event received high royal patronage from Phra Dech Phra Khun Phra Thep Wachirawannabandit, Acting Abbot of Wat Thammamongkol Thaeabunyannont Vihara, Royal Temple, Chief of Sector 10 (Thammayut), who presided over the closing ceremony, delivered a sermon to the children and youth, and presented certificates and "I Will Be a Good Person" pins as reminders and pride for the participating youth to remain steadfast in good conduct, good thoughts, and good deeds.
Additionally, Phra Kru Thammanakowiwat, Assistant Abbot of Wat Thammamongkol, presided over the orientation and opening ceremony, along with Phra Kru Samuhawacharapong Thammasuntharo, who gave a Dhamma talk conveying Buddhist teachings for children and youth to learn and understand appropriately for their age, focusing on gratitude, discipline, honesty, respect for others, and living happily in society.
Another important force making this project warm was support from many sectors, led by Dr. A-Supachai Phongsawat, President of the Association of Artists Promoting Buddhism and Thai Culture and the Council of Artists Promoting Buddhism, the Morality Propagation Unit of the Religious Affairs Department, Ministry of Culture (Royal Award Organization), along with Khun Honey-Naphak Mutthasathien, President of the Naphak Project, who supported the activity for children and youth.
Indispensable were the colors and power of love from the "celebrity big brothers and sisters" who willingly sacrificed time to do good. The team was led by leading actor S-Kanthapong Bumrungrak, Dr. Pingping-Raphathorn Ekanithisat (Miss Universe Chachoengsao 2026), Namon-Patcharawalai Pongphamon, Dr. Chai Hacks-Warodom Sirisuk, and Korn Wachakorn (Chaikorn), who participated to promote and inspire youth to see the value of doing good.
The gathering of entertainers this time was not just about joining a volunteer activity; it also reflected the role of artists and actors as good role models for society, especially using their fame and opportunities to create benefits for children and youth, which is considered an important force in developing the country's future.
NAPVC, the project's co-driver, hopes the "Seedlings of Virtue Leading Youth to Goodness" activity will be a starting point for instilling moral and ethical consciousness in youth, because creating good people does not happen overnight but requires cooperation from families, educational institutions, temples, and all sectors of society. The core heart of the project is not merely having children attend training or receive certificates, but planting the understanding that "goodness starts with ourselves," whether respecting parents and teachers, having the heart to help others, and applying Buddhist teachings in daily life.
