DJ Put Reveals Kids' Repeat RSV Infections, Advises Home Recovery

DJ Putthichai shares his family's experience with recurrent respiratory infections — his son Peer caught RSV right after recovering from hMPV, and his daughter Jade Pearl also became infected. He emphasizes the importance of keeping sick children home from school during rainy season to prevent transmission, noting that vaccination helps reduce severity but doesn't guarantee prevention. Both children are now recovering at home under careful care.

DJ Put's heart aches for his children — son Peer is sick again, just recovered from hMPV then caught RSV once more, and daughter Jade Pearl has also been infected. He praises Ju Yok for taking such good care of the kids. As a father, seeing his child lying ill nearly breaks his heart; he wishes he could take the illness instead. Peer just got over hMPV last week after coughing for 2-3 weeks, then came down with RSV last week, so they kept him home for care. Then Jade Pearl caught it too, which added to the parents' stress. This time they're better prepared — they know how to manage care and prevent the whole household from getting infected, unlike the previous round when everyone caught it. They wear masks and initially separated the children's rooms, but once both tested positive for RSV they stayed together.

Peer is generally healthy, but since starting school during rainy season — peak time for respiratory diseases like RSV and hMPV — he's only attended about one-third of the term. When one child at school gets sick, it spreads quickly. Both kids are fully vaccinated, which doctors say may reduce severity but doesn't prevent infection entirely. Peer now just has a lingering cough and runny nose with no fever. Jade Pearl is in the early stage and starting to get worse. They're managing at home with plenty of food and fluids to avoid hospitalization, which they prefer to avoid unless fever spikes or eating becomes impossible. When the kids are sick they become more clingy, which is heartbreaking. Once recovered, they'll return to school normally; if illness recurs, they'll stay home again to avoid infecting others.
