Anutin Hasn't Spoken to MP Amid Husband's DSI Gambling Probe
Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said he has not yet spoken to Bhumjaithai MP Suchada Sang after her husband was questioned by the DSI over alleged gambling website shares. Anutin stressed that asset declarations are personal obligations for politicians and confirmed party donations are clean, while brushing off concerns about the party's reputation.
Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, in his capacity as Bhumjaithai Party leader, addressed the case of MP Suchada Sang of Chaiyaphum, whose husband, Taiyang Sang, gave information to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) yesterday (Oct 21) regarding gambling website shares. Anutin said he has not yet spoken to Suchada, adding he is monitoring the news. He emphasized that asset declaration and explanation are personal duties of each officeholder, not matters the party can interfere with — just as he and other ministers must also declare assets. Asked whether party donations linked to the case had been checked, Anutin said he holds the party's financial records. Pressed to confirm nothing improper exists, he replied, "I confirm." When asked if he worries about damage to Bhumjaithai's image, Anutin laughed and said briefly, "Don't know why you'd ask that."
