Police Bust Nigerians Selling Cocaine Mixed with Chalk in Bangkok
Police in Bangkok arrested two Nigerian men for selling cocaine that had been adulterated with chalk and baking soda to increase volume and profit. The raids netted over 200 grams of cocaine and uncovered more than 2 million baht in drug money. Both suspects face charges for narcotics trafficking and, in one case, illegal immigration.
Officers apprehended MR.F, a 42‑year‑old Nigerian, and seized approximately 103 grams of cocaine along with paraphernalia used for drug distribution. Further investigation led to the arrest of MR.C, a 43‑year‑old Nigerian who could not produce a passport or proof of legal stay; he was found residing illegally in the kingdom. A search of his accommodation yielded about 101 grams of cocaine, numerous plastic bags for packaging, a digital scale, chalk, baking soda, a blender and measuring cups. Suspects admitted they mixed chalk and baking soda with the cocaine to bulk it up and increase profit.
