Actress Noon Siriphan makes her first foray into vertical drama with "Pong Lang Sa Than Thung," dismissing suggestions that the move represents a career downgrade. The project, launched by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation alongside research partners, aims to transform Kalasin's cultural assets into a creative economy driver. The 36-episode series showcases local heritage like Phrae Wa silk, Thung fabric, and Pong Lang music to stimulate tourism and community pride while reaching younger audiences on TikTok, Facebook Reels, and YouTube Shorts this December.
Noon admitted the vertical format posed steep challenges, with compact storytelling and filming techniques vastly different from the films and TV dramas she is used to. However, she said she accepted the role immediately because the script beautifully conveys Kalasin's cultural roots and Thai identity. "This new media format delivers conservation and inheritance values directly to the new generation," she said. "Anyone who watches will want to experience Kalasin's charm for themselves." The series, running about three minutes per episode, will air on the "Yan Nee Dee Jang" channel starting December 2026.
