MONO ORIGINAL, M STUDIO, and Behemoth Capital are pouring massive investment into the mega-epic fantasy film "Nakee 3: The Cursed War" (The Cursed War), directed by "Off" Pongpat Wachirabunjong, ready to take audiences back into a world of faith, love, and destiny.
The film marks the reunion of Naga queen "Taew" Nataporn Prapha (as Rattanawadee) and "Ken" Phuphoom Pongpanu (as Anirut), joined by two new leading ladies "Ta-Ning" Kanyavee Songmuang (as Anyanee) and "Khem" Haswee Pakpongpisan (as Rachen), alongside an ensemble cast including "Toey" Pongsakorn Mettarikanont (as Singhon), "Cake" Natthawatch Keowbuasai (as Surasen), "Waan" Pirapat Lilaetipin (as Malati), "Tung-Ning" Ratklao Amradit (as Nayika), "Nok" Chatchai Plengpanich (as Phaya Phuchong), Johnny Anfone (as Phaya Venuthai), "Big" Sarut Wichitaranont (as Ong Adityaraj), "Wit" Phutharit Prombandan (as Ong Chandrakup), "Blue" Warapon Chintakosol (as Waiyathat), "Bath" Thanyachanok Chathamakul (as Phayaran), and "Pim" Panwad Siwirut (as Anilthita).
"Nakee 3: The Cursed War" is not merely a continuation of the old legend but opens a new chapter in the Nakee universe amid a war between "Garuda" and "Naga." A curse forces both races to hate each other endlessly. Love is forbidden amid the flames of war when one side reveres Garuda and the other worships Naga. They must choose between duty to their race or cooperation to stop a war that threatens to consume everything.
This return of "Nakee 3: The Cursed War" underscores the grand scale of Thai-blooded action production, designed to create a new phenomenon for Thai fantasy cinema on the international stage. It creates "sacred war scenes" so realistic they resemble an ancient battlefield brought to life, mobilizing hundreds of actors in full-scale battle, enhanced by exquisitely detailed costumes, weapons, and jewelry that radiate power and vitality.
The ultimate highlight is the massive CGI investment, taking nearly two years to perfect every microscopic detail — from modeling the muscular, unadorned Garuda to the shimmering scales and graceful movements of the Naga — to create the most perfect, realistic battle scenes between the two sacred races imaginable. It marks a significant step in "elevating Thai cinema to the global stage."
This legendary fantasy epic is driven by the heart and dedication of acclaimed director "Off" Pongpat Wachirabunjong, who tightly controlled every production step himself. He revealed: "This film did extensive homework because we wanted the best possible result. We used CGI for nearly over 90 percent, from designing the Garuda with imagined muscular definition and no ornaments, to the Naga requiring even more detail than before. The hardest part was designing the Buddha-era forest and the backgrounds for every scene requiring CGI integration. We meticulously crafted every step to achieve maximum realism for a more evolved work."
Meanwhile, the reunion of "Taew Nataporn" and "Ken Phuphoom" adds another layer of intrigue, taking audiences into a world of conflict between two races. "Ken Phuphoom" shared his excitement about working with "Taew Nataporn" again: "I feel thrilled and happy to work together again. I admit it feels heartwarming because Taew is an actress with skill and experience already..."
