The Royal Gazette has published an announcement by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) strictly controlling officials' social media use, banning personal use during work hours and prohibiting inappropriate photos or videos in uniform.

On October 22, the Royal Gazette published the NACC's 2026 guidelines on online social media use for NACC officials. The guidelines were deemed necessary to regulate officials' social media use appropriately within the framework of morality, ethics, and fine traditions, while effectively safeguarding government security, secrecy, organizational image, and public trust.

Exercising authority under Section 144(2) of the Organic Act on Counter Corruption B.E. 2561, the NACC, as the central personnel administration body for the Office of the NACC, issued the following announcement:

The announcement specifies that officials must refrain from using social media for non-duty-related purposes during official working hours, as this may affect work efficiency or create the perception that they are not dedicating their time to public service.

It also prohibits officials from using social media for any inappropriate actions that could affect their duties, the dignity of their positions, or the agency's image. Prohibited actions include:

- Expressing opinions, criticizing, or disseminating information with inappropriate content or that affects national institutions, religion, or the monarchy. - Disclosing information about official duties in a manner that fails to protect government secrets or impacts risky missions. - Posting still or moving images while wearing uniforms or clothing bearing NACC insignia in a manner lacking proper decorum, which may damage the agency's image and public trust. - Expressing opinions, criticizing, or disseminating information that may create ideological divisions, social hatred, or affect impartiality in performing duties, the agency's image, or public trust. - Using social media to boast about official duties or invoking one's own or another's official position for commercial or other personal gain, directly or indirectly.

Additionally, officials must ensure that family members or other individuals do not use or reference their official positions on social media for commercial or other personal gain, directly or indirectly.
