Police Seize 25 Counterfeit Japanese Helmets in Nakhon Pathom Raid

Police in Nakhon Pathom arrested a 30-year-old man for selling counterfeit Japanese-brand motorcycle helmets via Facebook at suspiciously low prices. The raid yielded 25 fake helmets and several face shields made from substandard materials that could fail catastrophically in a crash. Authorities warn riders to avoid cheap, unverified online gear and buy only certified helmets from legitimate sources.

On October 20, 2026, Pol. Maj. Gen. Natthasak Chaowanachai, Deputy Commissioner of Provincial Police Region 7, ordered Pol. Col. Thasaphum Charuprasert, Superintendent of Kamphaeng Saen Police Station, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Phuwadet Chulakasewi, Pol. Lt. Col. Naphawat Tharicharanphat, and Pol. Sgt. Santhikamlang from Investigation Division 1, to join trademark protection representatives in arresting Mr. Warin (surname withheld), age 30, at a rented room in Moo 10, Huai Khwang Subdistrict, Kamphaeng Saen District, Nakhon Pathom Province. They seized 25 counterfeit safety helmets bearing imitation trademarks and several face shield accessories.

The operation followed a complaint that someone was secretly selling counterfeit helmets of a famous Japanese brand — known for high safety standards and global popularity — through a Facebook page at abnormally low prices. When the rights holder examined the products, they found substandard materials that could pose severe danger to users in an accident.

During questioning, the suspect confessed to ordering the fake goods through online channels to resell himself. Police charged him with "possessing for sale goods bearing a counterfeit trademark registered in the Kingdom" before transferring him to Kamphaeng Saen investigation officers for further legal proceedings.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Natthasak warned motorcyclists and the public to be cautious when buying safety gear online, especially items priced suspiciously low or from unverifiable sources, as they may be counterfeit, non-standard, or uncertified. He emphasized that fake helmets lack proper materials and structural integrity, can shatter on impact, and may cost lives. "Don't be lured by cheap prices; choose genuine, certified products from legitimate manufacturers."
