The Thai Meteorological Department’s fourth warning, released at 5:00 PM on October 18, 2025, states that heavy to very heavy rain will affect the country from October 18‑25. During October 18‑20, the southern and eastern regions will experience continuous rain with locally heavy to very heavy falls. From October 21‑25, the lower Northeast, central, Bangkok and its vicinity, eastern, and upper southern areas will see increased rainfall, heavy to very heavy rain in places, and occasional strong gusts. The public is urged to guard against dangers from strong winds, heavy rain, and accumulated rainfall, which may trigger flash floods, forest runoff, and landslides, particularly on slopes near waterways and in low‑lying zones; travel through repeatedly flooded routes should be avoided, especially in flood‑prone lowlands. The warning notes that the initial monsoon trough lies over the lower southern region with the southwest monsoon covering the lower Andaman Sea, before moving northward over the central south, while a high‑pressure system or cold air mass from China spreads over the upper north, upper Northeast, and the South China Sea. In the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand, where thunderstorms occur, wave heights are expected to exceed three metres; mariners should navigate with caution and avoid sailing in thunderstorm areas. For safety, residents should plan their activities and travel carefully during this period, follow continuous updates from the department via its website http://www.tmd.go.th, or call 0‑2399‑4012‑13 and 1182, available 24 hours. The next bulletin will be issued on October 19, 2025 at 05:00 hours.
