Rayong Official Removes Pluak Daeng Chief Over KTV Bribery
Rayong’s deputy interior minister led an inspection that found four unlicensed KTV venues in Pluak Daeng and alleged bribery payments to local officials. As a result, the district chief has been transferred to the provincial office to facilitate the investigation. Governor Traipop Wongtrairat signed the order effective 17 October 2026.
According to the provincial order signed by Governor Traipop Wongtrairat, Kantiphan Sukson, the chief of Pluak Daeng district, is to report to the Rayong provincial administration center starting 17 October 2026 pending further notice. The order states the transfer is to ensure a smooth and effective investigation and to prevent any damage to government affairs, invoking Sections 54 and 57 of the Public Administration Act BE 2535 as amended. The move follows allegations that the district office received a monthly bribe of 10,000 baht from the KTV establishments inspected during the deputy minister’s 'Sing Praab Haap Luk' campaign.
