A train struck and killed one person near the Ban Sop Tuey railway crossing in Lampang, with authorities investigating. At 9:30 p.m. on July 9, the Lampang Rescue Association reported the accident occurred near the railway crossing behind Phadung Wit School in Pong Saen Thong subdistrict, Muang district, Lampang province. One fatality was confirmed at the scene. The train stopped and is blocking the crossing between Ban Sop Tuey and Ban Thap Mak, preventing all vehicle traffic. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes.
