At 9:30 p.m. on July 9, 2026, Lampang Rescue Association and provincial volunteer coordinators reported the fatal train accident occurring near the Ban Sop Tui crossing behind Phadung Wit School in Pong Saen Thong Subdistrict, Mueang District, Lampang Province. One person was fatally struck by the train at the scene. The train remains stopped and is blocking the crossing between Ban Sop Tui and Ban Thab Mak, preventing all vehicular traffic from passing.
