Chiang Rak Expo 2026 invites participation in a grand annual street food and music festival, running for seven days to connect the university with the community and promote grassroots economy. Chiang Rak Market at Thammasat University Rangsit Center will host over 300 stalls, an amusement park, student performances, and nightly concerts, opening a space of happiness for students, staff, locals, and the public. The event returns as 'Chiang Rak Expo 2026: Ultimate Street Food & Music Fest' from November 4–10, 2026, 11:00–23:00 at Rangsit Gate 2–Naga Pond, Thammasat University Rangsit Center, using the annual festival as a tool to strengthen university‑community ties while supporting the local economy.
The expo marks its third consecutive year, building on the success of the previous ‘Chiang Rak Fair’ and expanding into a larger expo format. It gathers community shops, student‑run businesses, and popular social‑media vendors—more than 300 outlets—offering food tasting, leisure walks, and a glimpse of student and community creativity.
Phuwadon Sirichaisinthap, manager of the Business Area Office at Thammasat University’s Asset and Sports Administration, said the expo aims to continue university‑community cooperation, providing a venue where students, staff, and residents can meet and engage in activities for all age groups. It also encourages community participation in organizing the event and helps distribute income locally, allowing the university and community to grow together.
Small businesses can reach student and community customer bases, while students can act as consumers, workers, and entrepreneurs. The university can use the physical space as a mechanism for social interaction with its surroundings, exemplifying the ‘University for Society’ concept without requiring large‑scale projects—everyday activities can embody this idea.
Inside the expo, an amusement zone features rides such as a Viking, Tagada, bumper cars, haunted house, Music Express, carousel, and inflatable house, alongside nostalgic fair‑ground activities like canvas painting, gel‑candle making, miniature kitchen, and plaster coloring for friends and families to enjoy together.
A major highlight is the music program presented by Thammasat University student clubs, with nightly concerts from artists including PUN, PURPEECH, Apimorn, Wa Wit, GOODMOOD, FREEHAND, Sek Loso, TG Tiger, POLYCAT, and Lamyai Thongkam, rotating throughout the seven days.
The venue provides parking for over 1,000 cars and a free shuttle service throughout the event. Organizers invite everyone to experience the food, music, and fun of a festival that not only entertains but also strengthens the bond between the university and the community. The Chiang Rak Expo 2026 will take place from November 4 to 10, 2026 at Thammasat University Rangsit Center.
