Mind Music Record has signed viral TikTok sensation Pui, with the label's founder insisting the move is based on genuine talent rather than fleeting internet fame, though the decision has sparked online debate about merit in the music indus
Mind Music Record has officially welcomed Pui, the viral sensation known for her pink bedding and Doraemon pillow clips, into its roster. Label founder Prachai Chai announced the signing, emphasizing that while everyone deserves a second chance, he won't recruit artists based solely on viral moments without genuine singing ability. "If we only take people who've gone viral from TikTok trends, then any singer could become a hundred," Chai posted. "That's not how we work."
Pui, grateful for the opportunity, bowed respectfully and addressed the backlash: "I ask society to look at this from another angle. I was also a victim in this situation. Please give me a chance." Her apology has drawn mixed reactions online, with some offering support while others argue the label should have given the opportunity to a more accomplished singer instead.
Meanwhile, Mind Music Record is crowdsourcing ideas for Pui's debut single title, inviting fans to submit suggestions. Proposed names have included "I Don't Know So He Said I'm Single," "He Tricked Me Into Thinking He Wasn't Married," and "Tears on Pink Sheets."
The signing has ignited broader debate about merit versus second chances in the entertainment industry, with passionate comments flooding social media both criticizing and defending the label's decision.
