One Piece Card Scam Victims Seek Justice After Lawyer Threats

Over ten victims of a One Piece trading card pre-order scam, with losses totaling 30-40 million baht, have sought legal counsel after the suspect's lawyer allegedly threatened them to drop criminal charges. The suspect has a reported history of fraud spanning over a decade, and victims claim police have not pursued an arrest despite total alleged damages exceeding 200 million baht. A second complaint is planned for October 26 with the Crime Suppression Division.

A group of more than ten victims who were defrauded in a One Piece card pre-order scheme, with damages estimated at 30-40 million baht, gathered at lawyer Ratchapol Sirisakorn's Nonthaburi office on October 23 to seek legal advice. The victims had previously filed a police report, but the case went quiet, after which the suspect's lawyer allegedly contacted each victim individually, pressuring them to agree to a civil settlement instead of pursuing criminal charges. Victims are confused why the suspect has not been arrested despite total alleged damages exceeding 200 million baht, and why they are now being threatened by the suspect's legal representative.

One victim, identified as Sak, 28, said he met the suspect through social media, where the suspect displayed a credible profile showing product photos, purchase orders, and transfer slips from various shops. Trusting the suspect could genuinely pre-order One Piece cards from abroad, Sak transferred over 400,000 baht but received not a single card. Sak discovered the suspect has a history of fraud complaints dating back to age 17-18, and at around 30 years old continues the same scheme: gaining trust, taking payment, and disappearing without delivering goods. The suspect then attempts to convert the case into a civil matter to evade accountability. Sak urged police to expedite the investigation and not allow the suspect to use lawyers to intimidate victims.

Another victim, Sad, appealed to Jae Thaitatsamit, a well-known figure in the card game community who recently announced his departure, to return and join the fight: "Brother Jae, come back on board with us first, don't abandon ship yet. We're still fighting and waiting for you to return."

Lawyer Ratchapol Sirisakorn stated that based on the suspect's behavior, there is evidence of entering false information into computer systems to deceive victims, demonstrating clear intent to commit fraud. He urged police to accelerate the case given the high value of damages — 30-40 million baht for just this small group of ten-plus victims, not counting others including Jae Thaitatsamit. The case shows no progress for victims, and on October 26, the lawyer plans to gather more victims to file another complaint with the Crime Suppression Division.
