Myanmar Couple's Argument Ends in Fatal Stabbing in Suphan Buri
Myanmar couple in Suphan Buri lost their jobs, became stressed, and argued violently, stabbing each other with knives. The wife died from a single abdominal wound, while the husband suffered two stab wounds and was hospitalized in critical condition. Police are investigating the incident as a possible case of domestic violence linked to unemployment‑related stress.
On 16 October 2026, Lt. Col. Suntron Pimpha, deputy inspector (investigations) of Song Phi Nong Police Station, Suphan Buri, received a report of a knife fight with injuries and a fatality inside a rented house at 241/5 Moo 1, Hua Pho, Song Phi Nong district. He proceeded to the scene with Pol. Col. Yingyot Choenamuay, deputy commander of Suphan Buri Provincial Police, Pol. Lt. Cmdr. Nawin Kanpipich, station sergeant, a doctor from Somdej Phra Sangkhraj Hospital (the 17th), and members of the Samakkan Suphan Buri Foundation.
Inside the room, belongings were scattered, there were clear signs of a struggle, and several knives lay on the floor. The victim, identified as 'Nang E' (pseudonym), a 25‑year‑old Myanmar woman, was found lying face down on the bed, soaked in blood, with a single stab wound to the abdomen. The husband, later named Ratcha Kumar, 36, also a Myanmar national, had sustained two stab wounds to the abdomen and was in critical condition. Rescue workers had already taken him to Somdej Phra Sangkhraj Hospital for urgent treatment.
According to fellow tenants, the couple worked as day‑labourers on a nearby farm but had recently been laid off, which likely caused stress and arguments. Earlier that morning, the husband went to buy white liquor but was refused service. When he returned, he found the door locked, knocked, received no answer, and broke the door with a hammer. This led to a confrontation in which they stabbed each other, resulting in the wife’s death and the husband’s serious injury.
Police are continuing to gather evidence and will pursue legal action.
