MP Supachai Sues Colleague, Media, 80 Netizens for Defamation
Bhumjaithai MP Supachai Jaisamut has filed defamation lawsuits against Move Forward MP Ratchanok "Ice" Srinok, several media outlets, and plans to sue 70-80 netizens over a Facebook post he says falsely linked his committee complaint to a separate case involving MP Suchada. He also lodged a complaint with the NACC against Legal Affairs Committee Chair Rangsiman Rome, alleging serious ethical violations for refusing to follow regulations and the constitution.
At 09:35 on October 22, 2026, at Parliament, Bhumjaithai party-list MP Supachai Jaisamut addressed the case in which House Speaker Wan Muhamad Noor Matha summoned all 35 committee chairs for a meeting the previous day (October 21). Supachai confirmed he did not ask the Speaker to invite the committee chairs; it was the Speaker's own initiative to discuss the complaints Supachai had filed regarding committee operations — specifically the Legal Affairs Committee, and possible overlapping work or agenda-setting without committee resolutions. He filed the complaint on August 17, 2026, which had nothing to do with MP Suchada Sangthong of Bhumjaithai, as that matter arose later.
Supachai said Move Forward party-list MP Ratchanok Srinok posted on Facebook claiming his actions caused tension and demanded a Legal Affairs Committee meeting because she was unhappy the committee invited Suchada to give clarification. He called this a false distortion that damaged his reputation, so he authorized his lawyer to file defamation charges against Ratchanok and 3-4 media outlets that shared the remarks, saying they must prove whether they shared carelessly or without due consideration.
Supachai added he sued to show everyone in the country deserves legal protection from false accusations. He said his lawyer identified at least 70-80 commenters who will face legal action, warning others to be careful, and vowed not to settle. "You can insult my parents all you want; I never did anything to yours. You should be aware. My rights and wrongs are mine. I do my duty straightforwardly. If you're unhappy, go show your love for Ratchanok — don't come insult me," he said.
Regarding Legal Affairs Committee Chair Rangsiman Rome, Supachai said they questioned his work performance. In yesterday's meeting, he hoped Rangsiman would understand the situation, but Rangsiman insisted on his correctness. However, Supachai claimed Rangsiman's actions still violated regulations and the constitution, though it's unclear who would adjudicate. He said Rangsiman's refusal to comply with regulations and the constitution constitutes severe ethical misconduct, so he filed a complaint with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to determine whether Rangsiman committed serious ethical violations.
