Man Shoots Friend During Drunken Argument in Lampang
A 37-year-old man shot his friend during a drunken argument in Lampang province, killing him with a shotgun blast to the chest. The victim, 36-year-old Surinan aka Ball, was found dead on the roadside with methamphetamine pills in his pocket. The shooter, Ittirit aka Tong, confessed after being detained and faces multiple charges including murder and drug offenses.
The victim was identified as 36-year-old Surinan, also known as Ball, who was found lying on his left side wearing green shorts, a black long-sleeve shirt and slippers, surrounded by a pool of blood. Inside his shirt pocket officers found three methamphetamine pills, and a single shotgun blast had penetrated his chest. Signs of a struggle were present at the scene. Witnesses said Surinan had argued earlier that night with his friend Ittirit, also known as Tong, aged 37, who then fired the shotgun. Villagers who heard the gunshot assumed it was firecrackers and did not react. The next morning someone saw the body, thought it was a drunk passerby sleeping by the road, and later informed the village head and police. Police searched Tong's house, found him intoxicated, observed signs of a struggle on his body, and noted his history of drug involvement. Tong confessed to shooting Surinan after using methamphetamine and was charged with intentional murder, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, carrying a firearm in a public place without justification, and use of a Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine).
