On October 18 at 3:30 p.m., a man driving a white sedan with a broken rear windshield struck a motorcyclist in Muang Tia, Wiset Chai Chan, Ang Thong. He then got out, used a wooden stick to hit 66‑year‑old Wan Praison on the head, causing a severe laceration, before driving the car over the victim again while he remained seated on his motorcycle. The suspect fled the scene. Police, led by Superintendent Phattanun Songsamawithin and Deputy Superintendent Rungsan Sosanyaichai, have ordered investigators to track down the attacker. They say they now have leads on the suspect, identified as 26‑year‑old Warathon Maklan, son of the victim, who told officers his father was riding his motorcycle to buy goods when the attacker passed by, returned, and struck him without any prior acquaintance. The victim required 13 stitches to his head and suffered five broken ribs.
