Bo Phut Police arrested a husband and wife who operated a parcel delivery shop as a front for selling crystal methamphetamine (ice) and yaba pills to customers on Koh Samui. The couple admitted to picking up drugs from another district for distribution on the island.
On October 21, 2026, officers from Bo Phut Police Station, Surat Thani Province, apprehended Mr. Chokchai, 44, and Ms. Yaikwan, 37, along with 1.2 kilograms of ice, more than 200 yaba tablets, one homemade Thai pistol, a quantity of ammunition, a four-door pickup truck, and 70,570 baht in cash.
The arrest followed a checkpoint set up by Pol. Lt. Col. Narin Thinkeaw, Deputy Superintendent of Bo Phut Police, on the road in Soi Superchip-Bor Sand, Village 3, Bo Phut Subdistrict, Koh Samui District. Officers spotted Mr. Chokchai driving a pickup with Ms. Yaikwan as a passenger and signaled them to stop for a search.
Mr. Chokchai appeared nervous when he saw the police. A search revealed a homemade pistol tucked at his waist and four clear plastic bags containing ice weighing approximately 239.9 grams in total.
Mr. Chokchai confessed that all the drugs belonged to him, stating he had collected them from Kanchanadit District to sell to customers on Koh Samui. He claimed his primary occupation was running the parcel delivery shop in Bo Phut Subdistrict.
Police suspected the shop might be hiding more drugs and illegal items, so they expanded the search and seized additional quantities of ice and yaba. Both suspects were handed over to Bo Phut Police investigators for further legal proceedings.
