A Honda Civic plunged over 30 meters down a ravine off the Phitsanulok–Lom Sak highway in Khao Kho district, Phetchabun, after the driver reportedly fell asleep. Three people were injured, including a pregnant woman. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
On October 21, 2026, Khao Kho district police received a report of a sedan that had run off the road in Kampong Son subdistrict, Khao Kho district, Phetchabun province, at kilometer 325 on the Phitsanulok–Lom Sak highway, eastbound lane. The vehicle had occupants trapped inside. Police coordinated with the Sawang Mongkol Tham Khao Kho rescue foundation and Khao Kho Hospital and rushed to the scene.
At the site near kilometer 325, officers found the kilometer marker had been uprooted and lay on the road shoulder, and a road sign had been flattened. A white Honda Civic with Phetchabun license plates was discovered down a ravine more than 30 meters deep; the car was heavily damaged. Three injured persons were found: two men and a woman approximately two months pregnant. They were immediately transported to Khao Kho Hospital.
Police stated that preliminary information indicates the three occupants were heading to Lom Sak district when the driver apparently fell asleep at the wheel, causing the vehicle to lose control and plunge into the valley. Fortunately, numerous trees absorbed the impact, limiting injuries. Police will continue investigating to determine the exact cause.
