Actor Khem Hatswir Reveals 8kg Weight Loss Secrets
Actor Khem Hathaway lost 8kg in months by quitting daily alcohol and training, revealing partner Ning Panita loves his new fit physique.
Fans have widely praised young leading man Khem Hatswir for his discipline after he transformed his body, losing up to eight kilograms in just a few months. Most recently, at the WORLD GALA PREMIER for the film "Nakee 3: Krut Nakee THE CURSED WAR" at ICON PARK, 2nd floor, Iconsiam, Khem disclosed his weight-loss tips, looking noticeably younger and firmer. He also shared a hilarious moment from when he went into the field to help flood victims but wasn't recognized, and urged the public to check foundations before donating following a fake-rescue scandal.
"Many people like us in this shape. 'It's the shape we should have been in for a long time. Honestly, we didn't know ourselves before; we just felt strong and liked ourselves in every form. But once we got into this shape, many people said they like it this way — looking younger and firmer.'"
How many kilos did you lose? "Down 7-8 kg, but it accumulated gradually. I had a shooting project before, so I slowly lost weight and built muscle. It's been disappearing over about 2-3 months; in two months I lost about 7 to 8 kg."
What's the secret? "Exercise. I have a trainer who's also a friend; he advises on diet, rest, and quitting alcohol. Honestly, stopping alcohol is very important for weight loss. When I stopped for a month, I saw a clear loss of 2-3 kg in that month alone. But I didn't stop eating — normally I drink every day because my social circle is huge, lots of birthdays, and I'm lonely so I go out with many groups. Drinking was routine. But when I had to lose weight seriously, I tried to restrain myself; I'd go out and drink fish sauce instead."
Didn't your trainer scold you? "The trainer drank with me, but when there's a real project, the elders warn more often, so I had to do it. Later I got wasted, but going out wasn't as fun as drinking, so I somewhat refused to go out."
What's your weight now? "About once every two weeks, or some months I don't drink at all. (When did you last drink?) Yesterday. (Laughs) Just kidding."
How do people around you react? How do they compliment? "Especially P'Ning (Panita Patharahirun). She's very proud, wants everything, wants me to maintain this image, keep this look for a long time. She's always said to lose weight, tone up for her. I didn't understand what 'tone up for her' meant — how much is enough? Because I was already satisfied; I liked the bear look. When we walked anywhere it looked intimidating. But when it got a bit smaller, it looked cool."
Can we say you have a 'golden body' now? "I'll probably keep it like this, this level of fitness."
Now that you've done it, what has 'Ning' given you? "P'Ning has given since we first knew each other — whether it's things or anything, she gives constantly. Whatever I want, just say it. Heartbreak or anything, she fully supports. She's sulked about my bloated body many times, but I didn't know she was sulking. I just sulked back — hit the siren, hit the siren."
Anyone you want to tell those who said you couldn't lose weight? "Honestly, I don't say anything to them because I already like myself. I just want everyone to try liking themselves first. No matter who comments, try practicing self-love; it might be good. Because in every form of myself, I like it a lot. I have..."
