Daughter Refutes Destitute Actor Father's Claims, Reveals Childhood Abandonment
The daughter of former Thai actor 'Uncle Yothin' has rebutted his public claims of abandonment and destitution, revealing their parents divorced when she was three and he never provided support. She alleges he sent abusive messages and cut ties first, and his media appearance caused her severe personal and professional harm. She is willing to accept mediated assistance but refuses to cohabit, and is preparing legal action against online harassers.
Heartbroken daughter fights back against the drama abandoning 'Uncle Yothin,' a former star now fallen on hard times, revealing another side of the truth — abandoned, divorced since age 3, never supported, plus sent abusive messages cutting ties.
The viral social media case began when Yothin Maphanphol, known as 'Uncle Yothin,' a famous former supporting actor recognized by soap opera fans for lead roles, came forward revealing his destitute life after leaving the monkhood. Facing hardship, homeless and penniless, he wandered seeking help from police, stating he could not contact his daughter. This sparked a wave of criticism on social media, with many netizens attacking the daughter as ungrateful.
Recently, the daughter of the veteran actor, who resides and works in Samut Songkhram province, gave a candid tell-all interview to clarify the facts and protect herself and her family from the ensuing drama.
The daughter revealed that her father's media claims of having no relatives and no one to rely on were untrue, as she still has relatives in Bangkok who look after him. Regarding the family relationship, her parents separated when she was an infant and registered their divorce on May 12, 1980, when she was only 3.5 years old. This was because her father had another woman while her mother was pregnant with her second sibling, forcing her mother to return to Maeklong with the children. The divorce decree explicitly recorded the termination of paternal rights for both children's futures. Throughout the years since, her father never sent child support or visited even once, so there was no bond between them.
The daughter further stated that she had previously thought if they spoke civilly she would be willing to help support him within her means. However, her father instead sent messages and called using extremely abusive language, cursing her, her own daughter, and her family severely. He was also the one who verbally cut ties with her first, leading her and her mother to decide to cease contact entirely.
Moreover, her father's media appearance disclosing her name and hometown caused those around her and society to misunderstand, viewing her as an ungrateful daughter, severely impacting her mental health, family, and work duties. She thus felt compelled to clarify the truth, not to chase clout or seek attention.
For the way forward, if a mediator steps in to help negotiate a resolution, she is willing to talk and provide appropriate assistance. However, she firmly insists she will absolutely not return to living under the same roof, as he never supported his wife and children and cut ties when she was still young.
At the same time, the daughter urged society and netizens to consume news mindfully, not to hastily judge others without knowing the full, true backstory. She also warned those who commented with insults and abusive language beyond limits that she is gathering evidence and prepared to pursue legal action to the fullest extent.
