Woman Alleges Six-Year Assault Campaign by Husband's Ex-Girlfriend
A 33-year-old woman in Sukhothai claims her husband's ex-girlfriend has physically assaulted her four times over six years, with the latest attack on October 17 causing her children severe trauma. Despite three police reports filed at Sri Samrong Police Station, the case has not progressed, prompting the victim to seek public assistance via a TV program.
A woman is seeking help from relevant agencies after allegedly being stalked and physically assaulted by her husband's ex-girlfriend for six years, with three prior police reports showing no progress. The case came to light after a Facebook user posted a video clip appealing for assistance in Sukhothai regarding a sister-in-law who suffered bodily harm from her husband's former partner. The couple had broken up more than six years ago, but the ex-girlfriend continued to follow and attack the victim multiple times. Three police reports had been filed previously but stalled.
Most recently, at 3:00 PM on October 21 at the Malenont Building after the 'Hone Kra Sae' program taping, 'Mew,' 33, the victim, stated she had been physically assaulted by 'Fern' a total of four times. The first was in 2021 in front of a congee shop in Sukhothai; the second and third in 2022 in front of a convenience store; and the latest on October 17 on Charodwithithong Road in Sri Samrong district. The latest incident was unacceptable because it affected her daughter and son, who now suffer severe fear and panic and refuse to travel anywhere with her.
Mew recounted the latest event: she was riding a motorcycle to meet her boyfriend with her three children — her daughter in front, herself driving, and her son at the back. A car drove erratically, stopping and starting, making her suspicious. Her son, aware of the frequent attacks on his mother, took out his phone to record. Mew asked her daughter who it was, and a voice replied, 'It's me.' She saw it was Fern, the antagonist, who rolled down the window and grabbed her hair, assaulting her until the children fell off the motorcycle.
Mew said Fern initiated every assault, and each time she filed a report at Sri Samrong Police Station. Sometimes mediation occurred, but every time they mediated at the station, Fern claimed a personal vendetta against Mew, possibly stemming from 'Ball,' Mew's current boyfriend, who had previously dated Fern. Fern also tried to portray herself as the victim. Mew explained to investigators that she acted in self-defense after being attacked first, but was shocked when an investigator replied, 'It's a voluntary quarrel.' Others have told Mew that Fern has police connections, though Mew does not know the truth and isn't interested in the antagonist's personal life.
'Nam,' Mew's sister-in-law, who came forward seeking justice, revealed that the children have long known their mother was frequently assaulted. The youngest child was present during two attacks at ages two and four. The older child recorded clips out of concern and for safety evidence.
The incidents have made Mew's children afraid to go anywhere with her; even when relatives invite them to their favorite convenience store, the children remain anxious.
Mew added she has suffered injuries, sleeplessness, and only recently learned there are many other victims of Fern. She senses Fern is abnormal, possibly ill. Previously, Mew asked Ball about Fern's possessive nature but chose not to discuss it much. Today she only states that Fern exhibits overlapping relationship behavior, liking other men to wait outside her house, and that her own boyfriend was the one who urged her to bring this matter forward.
