GULF Delivers Cleaning Supplies, Medicine to Bangkok Flood Victims

Gulf Development PLC has delivered cleaning supplies, essential items, and household medicines worth 1 million baht to Bangkok to aid flood recovery efforts. The donation was handed over to Governor Chadchart Sittipunt, who warned that although floodwaters have receded in many areas, the situation remains fragile, especially in the east, and urged swift recovery work. Gulf said it has also previously provided relief packs, water, and meals, and remains committed to supporting affected communities.

Following the easing of flood conditions in many parts of Bangkok, Gulf Development PLC pressed ahead with its 'GULF Care – Sharing Concern for Thais' initiative to aid residents and support the restoration of communities and homes impacted by the floods in the capital. The company provided cleaning equipment, essential items, and household medicines valued at 1 million baht to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. The donation was presented by Sitman Rattanawadi, Gulf's Director of Corporate Social Responsibility Administration, and accepted by Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt at the Drainage Office on the first floor of Bangkok City Hall 2 (Din Daeng). Governor Chadchart remarked that, while floodwaters have receded in several areas, the overall situation remains fragile, particularly in the eastern side where accumulated water persists and inflow continues. He added that although the city can usually accommodate rainfall of about 60–70 millimeters, current water levels in drainage zones and canals are high, meaning heavy rain could quickly lead to overflow and flooding. He stressed that the priority now is recovery: mobilizing personnel and machinery from unaffected districts to support heavily affected areas for waste removal, cleaning, road repairs, and health assistance, aiming to restore normal life as swiftly as possible, and thanked all sectors contributing to the relief effort. Sitman Rattanawadi said that throughout the flood period Gulf had closely monitored the situation and delivered aid through the 'GULF Care – Sharing Concern for Thais' program, including mobilizing volunteer teams from its headquarters and power plants to assemble 650 relief packs with 6,000 bottles of drinking water and distribute 16,000 meal boxes to the city for allocation to affected communities. He explained that as floodwaters recede, post-flood cleanup and health care remain critical, so Gulf prepared over 30,000 items—such as detergent, floor scrubbers, cleaning cloths, trash bags, rubber gloves, mosquito repellent lotion, skin ointment, paracetamol, anti-diarrhea medicine, oral rehydration salts, and alcohol for sanitation—worth 1 million baht to be channeled through the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to impacted households, hoping to alleviate burdens and help families return to normal life quickly. He affirmed Gulf’s commitment to stand beside the Thai people and share concern in every situation. The report also noted that, in addition to the relief packs, drinking water, and cooked meals already provided for flood victims, Gulf had further distributed more than 15,000 additional relief packs.
