The Ghost Secret Ends After 7 Years Over Fraud Claims

The long-running Thai supernatural talk show The Ghost Secret is ending after seven years due to a financial dispute involving host Ajarn Oley Yaninsamut, who alleges a support company withheld millions of baht. Co-host Somcheng Samcha says the trio invested heavily and are disappointed, but legal action is underway and a future revival is possible if new sponsorship appears.

Somcheng Samcha expressed regret as the program The Ghost Secret prepares to end its broadcast at the end of this year after seven years together. She revealed the main reason is that Ajarn Oley faced problems with a support company that failed to pay him, causing damages in the millions and leaving him without capital to continue. Ajarn Oley has consulted a lawyer hoping to recover the money, and Somcheng said if a sponsor steps forward the show might return.

Asked why The Ghost Secret is closing, Somcheng said: "For us three, the show was okay after three years. Feedback was very good, so it extended to five, then seven years. We wondered if we could pass the seventh-year curse. It turned out to be seven years, and we'll air until the end of this year. The closure is necessary because Ajarn Oley's mother is ill, and he encountered problems making YouTube content without income. A company that came to support him didn't pay; they owe him millions. Ajarn therefore has no funds to continue because our show doesn't accept sponsors or clients."

"We asked Ajarn Oley if he wants to continue. If so, we could do a talk-show format with product sales and ads. He said no, that's not how we started. He wants a break first."

"We asked if he's taking a break to go solo, join another company, or continue in another form. He said he's not doing anything yet, just wants a break. For us as hosts, five years in we've only gained knowledge and feelings."

"Asked if we're disappointed: we're disappointed in a good show. We started as three people investing heavily together. Now that Ajarn says we must stop, we're secretly sad."

Can you settle with the support company and demand compensation? "Ajarn is likely talking with a lawyer now. It's the same company that Ed Ponglang sued and already got his money back. We're dealing with a lawyer to help. We have hope — about fifty-fifty. We'll see. We can sue because Ed sued and got his money back. We might not get the full amount, but we'll see."

Is there a chance to return under a new name? "Don't know, it's up to Ajarn. We talked with Toffey: without Ajarn Oley, it's just Ajarn Somcheng and Ajarn Toffey left. Anything can happen. We believe everything is predetermined. We'll meet again in the future. Maybe after seven years a sponsor will embrace us and we can continue together."

Doctors Warn Phone Use in Dark Damages Eyes, Children Most Vulnerable

Thai health experts from hospitals in Hua Hin and Nakhon Ratchasima warn that using mobile phones in dark rooms exposes eyes to high-energy blue light, causing strain, dry eyes, and potential long-term vision damage. Children and teenagers are especially vulnerable because their eyes are still developing and more sensitive to blue light. Doctors recommend keeping room lights on, taking breaks every 20-30 minutes, maintaining proper posture, staying hydrated, and getting adequate sleep to protect eye health.
