The Phayao Court heard a defamation case brought by the Phayao Provincial Prosecutor’s Office against Supaporn, a seller from Ratchaburi, with Thamanat Prompow as co‑plictiff, represented by Atit Manatsa. On the scheduled date for the plaintiff’s evidence, the parties engaged in court‑mediated negotiation and reached a settlement. Supaporn agreed to delete the offending Facebook post, apologized to Thamanat Prompow before the court, and promised not to repeat the act. Thamanat Prompow accepted the agreement, stated he forgave Supaporn, and withdrew both the criminal complaint and the civil claim for damages. After confirming that neither the plaintiff, the defendant nor the defense counsel objected, the court determined that the offense under Section 328 of the Penal Code is compoundable. With the co‑plaintiff’s withdrawal of the complaint and the court’s authorization, the right to prosecute was extinguished under Section 39(2) of the Criminal Procedure Code. The court therefore ordered the case stricken from the docket for both criminal and civil proceedings.
