1 Million Register via Thang Rat App for Flood Aid

Over one million households have registered for flood relief through the Thang Rat app, with Bangkok leading the count. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation says that, once data is verified, the Government Savings Bank can transfer assistance within two to three days, aiming to deliver payments to recipients within the week. Officials urged applicants to double‑check their location and disaster dates to avoid erroneous claims.

She explained that the relief package consists of two parts. The first is emergency disaster relief funds, with Bangkok and the affected provinces already surveying damage and beginning payments to victims. The second part, based on a cabinet resolution, provides 9,000 baht per household for homes flooded for less than seven days or with property damage, and also for cases of continuous inundation lasting seven days or more. For permanent residences and high‑rise buildings surrounded by water for seven days or more, the assistance is 5,000 baht per household. The Prime Minister has ordered swift implementation, and the DDPM has coordinated with Bangkok and the seventy‑five provinces to conduct surveys and confirm data. Once local authorities submit the information, the DDPM can forward it to the Government Savings Bank, enabling the transfer of relief money within two to three days or no later than this week. As of October 5 at 07:00, the Thang Rat system recorded 1,056,361 registered households: Bangkok 458,987 (an increase of over 100,000 from the previous day), Samut Prakan 149,194, Pathum Thani 130,010, Chachoengsao 42,531, and Rayong 36,016. Officials advised anyone who receives an "out of area" notification to check their location with the local administration or district office before selecting the disaster zone, because an incorrect selection prevents the system from confirming the claim. Those who have successfully registered can review and edit their details via the 'My Request' section to request corrections, and should also verify that the disaster date they entered matches the actual situation, which must meet the seven‑day or more condition.
